30th Annual Paul Holland Memorial Jack Jump Race
03/08/2009 |

Grab your Jack Jump and compete in a Dual Slalom on Charlie's Chase. What is a Jack Jump? It is a seat on a ski. Lift Mechanics used to use it back in the early days of ski resorts when they needed to carry all their equipment.
Basically take an old ski and make a seat and attach it to the ski. Sit on it and there is your JJ. Practice though this is not for beginners and our Mountain Operations team is pretty good.
Prizes and party following the race.
For more information call Gina Sarlo at 802-464-1100 x 4440.

This year start your planning early and save those cardboard boxes! Sunday we'll have a Pit Area in the main base area for some final touch ups before a judges panel will look over the sleds and judge them on creativity and design before we bring them up the hill to the "luge" for our contest.
This year we will award the prizes for the following categories:
1) Most Creative
2) Best Slider
3) Most Unique
4) Judges Choice
5) Mount Snow Employee/Departmental
Duct Tape Derby Rules:
1)All sleds must be registered online (details to follow soon). All those who will be in the sleds must sign an express assumption of risk form on site Sunday.
2) Sleds must be built out of cardboard, duct tape, paint and zip ties only. No other materials such as wood, skis, snowboards etc will be allowed. Sleds also must have NAMES!
3) Sleds must have at least a pilot and a co-pilot (2 people) in the sled. More than two occupants is allowed.
4) Occupants should be in uniforms/costumes to match the sled design/theme.
5) Sleds must be in the Main Base Area in the designated pit area for judging by no later than 10:30am Sunday morning.
